The cost of a software

We have to admit that a software for the operations is expensive especially if it is customized according to the company’s requirements. The software developer is always ready with the answer to any questions to give the client an impression that creating the software is easy. But my take on the software is to settle for the existing standard and just try to have it tweaked to suit your needs. That will greatly lessen the expense because a ready-made software for adjustment is much cheaper than a new software to be developed.

I think here you go straight in the direction of the question of what you can externalise. To be able to outsource properly or buy a software you should have internally or buy the competences (consulting for instance) to be able to judge the service and the pricing provided.
