Signature Links - Promote your own website

I just thought I would remind members of the very useful feature, that is the Use of Signatures and Links in Signatures

The use of links in signatures can be very useful for members, as it helps to improve the number of links to their own websites. This boosts the traffic to your own website as well as improving the overall 'ranking of the site in Google and other serach engines.

To avoid any abuse of this feature, I have set up a system as used on many other forums of this type, whereby members must first post a set number of times (10) and have been a member for 7 days, before being allowed to use a signature on their profile. New users will not see the signature option on their User CP. For those members who reach the 7 day membership and have made 10 or more posts, they can set up a signature via the User CP. This signature can contain a URL link.

The URL link is limited to one line and 500 characters.

Links in signatures must follow these guidelines:

  1. Linking to a commercial product/service is fine, provided it is not a product or service that openly competes with a product or service offered by Supply Chain Focus.
  2. Promotional text for a commercial product or service is OK, provided there are no price(s) of product(s) or service(s) listed.
  3. A link and promotional text for a site that is not commercial and does not contain product(s) and/or service(s) is allowed, provided the site is not sexual or does not violate Supply Chain Focus community standards. The Supply Chain Focus team shall be the sole arbitrator of what does and what does not violate community standards. (Examples include sites about drugs and/or s e x.)
  4. Duplicate links to the same URL in a Sig are not allowed.

Please abide by these simple guidelines and enjoy your time here.
