Hello to all,

I´m new here and i´m interested on looking for further education in logistics since i´m quite new into this field,
then to give a brief information over my profile, i´m 32 years old from Spain and i´m working in Germany for the company Rehnus Logistics, in a small town
called Gotha in the center of Germany,

I did some work as picker but now i´m located in the packaging area, that is too because my German level
is probably not so high to make other tasks, but i´m learning quite better the language now so i can have better communication in this language,
then i have done some research into logistics education but i would like to get some advice from more experienced people, so far my education level
is not very high since i am doing a business management degree in a online university in Spain but i have not finished that yet,

I also have some knowledge
in SAP but more in the financial area, then I´m currently trying to find some kind of Logistics education that I can make through the Internet since i dont have
too many time due to work schedules for going to a School or College, then i would be grateful if anybody can give an advice into this matter.

Thanks to all

Hello Sotar,

I can easily understand your story here. Although finding a right answer at this point is somewhat difficult but i will try to give your some ideas.

Firstly, I don't know how attractive online degrees are in Germany so i think that will play a role in the options available to you.

Secondly, how long do you have left to finish your business management degree as i am guessing it leads to some kind of Bachelors degree which can later qualify you to apply for a masters degree later in the future.

Thirdly, If you are looking for online degrees which i don't know if its a bachelors or masters degree then look towards schools in the U.S.A and U.K. Those two countries offer the widest range of online degrees in the world.

For instance i have made a search for you and this gives comprehensive options of online degrees and certificates you can select from.

Hope i have answered your questions. Feel free to ask more if you need to.

Re: Seeking advice for Logistics Education

Thanks for the answer, at this point i have to keep doing my current degree probably for awhile, more or less one more year,
then i think its a long time in between which i could profit to study something based in the logistic field which can be more
useful for my current job perspectives, then i made some research too in the SAP field, I know that there are some sap modules
based on logistic.

But i´m not sure which i could make a look into that can be more suitable for my profile, i think of course that is only
an option but i would like to get some orientation into this area if its possible.

Thanks again

Re: Seeking advice for Logistics Education

Sotar79 i understand you but you there lot of disadvantage of Online Education:

Briefly i will explained some factors that could negatively affect your success with online studying courses:

1. The Technology:

a. Value and Availability to Technology: Before any online program can hope to be successful, it must have students who are able to accessibility the global web studying atmosphere. Lack of accessibility, whether it be for economical or strategies reasons, will remove otherwise eligible students from the course. This is a major problem in rural and lower socioeconomic neighborhoods and educating the underserved people around the globe. Furthermore, speaking from an administrative perspective, if students cannot manage the technological innovation the organization employs, they are lost as customers. As far as Online accessibility is concerned, it is not universal, and in some areas of the United States and other countries, Online accessibility presents an important cost to the customer. Some customers pay a fixed rate per month for their Online accessibility, while others are charged for the time they spend online. If the participants' on the global web is limited by the amount of Online accessibility they can manage, then instruction and participation in the globally web program will not be reasonable for all students in the course. This is a restriction of online programs that rely on Online accessibility. Value of accessibility students of all backgrounds and parts of society

b. Requires New Skills/Technologies: if you're not computer-savvy or are afraid of change or new technological innovation, then online education and learning will probably not work for you. The online students are required to understand new abilities, such as researching and reviewing the globally web. For the global web students, they need to understand the techniques of navigation on a web based library for necessary information. Technical training and support of students and instructors

c. Pc Literacy: Both students and companies must use a minimum level pc knowledge in order to operate successfully in a web based atmosphere. For example, they must be able to use a variety of google and be comfortable navigating on the Globe Wide Web, as well as be familiar with Newsgroups, FTP procedures and email. If they do not have these technological innovation tools, they will not be successful in a web based program; a student or faculty member who cannot operate on the program will drag the entire program down.

d. Limitations of Technology: Simple to use and efficient technological innovation is critical to a web based success program. However, even the most sophisticated technological innovation is not 100% efficient. Unfortunately, it is not a question of if the equipment used in a web based program will don't be successful, but when. When everything is running nicely, technological innovation is intended to be low profile and is used as a tool in the studying process. However, breakdowns can occur at any factor along the program, for example, the server which hosts the program could crash and cut all members off from the class; a participant may accessibility the category through a networked computer which could go down; individual PCs can have numerous problems which could limit kids' access; finally, the Online accessibility could don't be successful, or the organization hosting the relationship could become slowed down with customers and either slow down, or don't be successful all together. In situations like these, the technological innovation is neither seamless nor efficient and it can take away from the chance to learn.
