best/worst supply chian software

What would you say is the best and the worst supply chain software programs you have used?

We are looking into deciding on software and a quick Google search has shown that the whole issue is a lot more complicated than anticipated!

For our company, it would mainly involve trucking/transporting, but I'm still interested in any software that you have used as, as in the future we may have need of different kinds of logistical and supply chain programs.

Best and worst, and WHY, because there is nothing better than personal reviews for helping decide on a product, in my opinion.

Thanks!

Re: best/worst supply chian software

No one have any suggestions?

Another thread covered a couple of free options that I will look into, but I would still like to know if anyone has recommendations or ones to avoid.

There is loads of Supply Chain software out there. I think you need to be a bit more specific about what you are looking for. WMS, TMS, S&OP, Demand Forecasting, Supply Chain Optimisation, Route Scheduling.......

Re: best/worst supply chian software

I might be biased here as I work for a SCM company, but I would suggest looking into Intenda. They offer a software package that incorporates end to end purchasing, warehouse and inventory management, fleet management, asset management and budget management. They are currently using Intenda's supplier management module to manage our Country's National Treasury database. Most of the government departments also use the software for purchasing.

They also work with MOD, NHS and DHL in the UK. Here is a link to their site http://www.intenda.net/

I think SAP is the industry standard, (at least in manufacturing world might be different in retail), but you might be looking for a cheaper option.

In my experience there are many not-very-well-known supply chain software for small scale or simple applications. It will depend on what you need it for.

Re: best/worst supply chian software

Actually, each and every tool have some unique features to satisfy customers. So we can't say these tools are best/worst, depends on our needs choose the suitable tool then check it ideal for use. We accessing Apptivo for managing supply chain management, it suitable our business and ideal to use. If is it possible only choosing the software, in case it not suitable for business surely results as worst.

Before getting into the right supply chain software, let me put some context to get things in the right perspective. Supply chain software comes in multiple sizes and shapes to suit a wide range of business requirements. The spectrum is quite wide and a one-size-fits-all approach to building software is outdated. There is a specific kind\ of software to meet the needs of a certain kind of business.

To identify where you are in your supply chain maturity curve and what your scale of operations is a fundamental analysis you need to do to set out on your journey in finding the right tool.
If we take the modern-day enterprise supply chain context, we need tools that can be both nimble and agile at the same time. We live in the cloud era and practically all kinds of enterprises are decommissioning on-prem software and moving to the cloud. We have found more and more large enterprises coming to FarEye to suit their supply chain requirements. With this context, a detailed checklist of what all you need to consider can be learned here.
