What i personally see happening all around is that a lot more freight forwarding businesses are incorporating the powerful wonders of the internet. Using dashboards and all other sorts of technology, they can make the freight forwarding industry easy to use and better to understand. This creates a better user experience and makes it more possible for individuals to ship their own goods abroad and such. Digitization, to put it simply.

A good example of the dashboard for freight forwarding would be Twill Logistics, a sister company of DAMCO.

Based on the observation of the past two years, following is a look at the trends that will revolutionize the logistics industry in 2018.
1.Blockchain: Blockchain and AI first certainly made their presence felt in the logistics industry this year. With the security and transparency blockchain offers, it offers an impenetrable way to store and share transactional data, while improving credibility with foolproof transactions.

2.Delivery of Choice: If the customers were not already spoiled for choices in terms of buying portals, products and crazy discounts, they will also have the option to choose among logistics providers to receive their shipment by.

3.Elastic Logistics: Elastic logistics refers to the flexibility to expand and shrink capabilities to align with the demands within the supply chain during a given timeframe.

4.Perfect Order Deliveries: Another trend that continues to increase in prominence is the quest for perfect orders. The complexities of last-mile delivery make the odds against fulfilling a perfect order overwhelming, but as companies are discovering, perfect orders are the ultimate measure of customer satisfaction.

5.Drones and Smart Glasses: With automation and mobility being part of the support system to compete with and hopefully stay ahead of the competition, smart glasses and drones will help drive logistics performance to next level.

Wow, nice discussion going on. When you look for a highly proficient and skilled shipping partner, you will take a look at their business models as well as shipping modules. That will help you develop crystal clear ideas of the processes, business approaches, and shipping solutions. Most of the leading companies like Dark Blue Shipping LLC offer affordable solutions and flexible Sea Cargo rates. You can get in touch with them and transport goods in a hassle-free way. Associating with the top service providers will also unlock numerous opportunities for you. That way, you can reach out to potential clients and reach their shipments on time.

Warehouses are bombarded with a hectic day to day of scheduling loads. Lots of different carriers going in and out. Bottle-necking occurs and detention times rack up. Current systems to handle this problem are patched together and lack efficiency. Dock star was created to stop
    - Unnecessary detention fees.
    - Unproductive conversations handling customer inquiries about load status
    - Getting blamed for damaged loads you packed correctly
    - Wasted time filing claims
    - Running around the warehouse passing paper documents back and forth

Automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS systems) that are customizable into multiple configurations represent the future of efficient warehouse management. Vertical lift modules save up to 90% of warehouse floor space and automatically place and retrieve specific goods from defined storage locations, thus enhancing the efficiency, safety, and accuracy of workplace operations.

In my opinion this year mostly continues trends for logistics and supply management from the last one. Automation is already very widespread in this case and it continues to develop, warehouse management systems become more and more popular nowadays and there's nothing strange about this because with them work in general becomes much more convinient and effective. Also autonomous truck development continues to grow as a very popular trend, it's a very interesting and perspective innovation for almost all types of business. There's also an interesting trend for combining logistics companies with technology providers because it creates a progressive 'mix' for business entity and software platform, such combination is the most popular now for taxi service. Also social responsibility became much higher for supply chain management, it's very trendy now too and supported by many big companies like Dell and Pepsico.
And in case of warehouse management systems the most trendy for this year are Wise, Mobe3, Infoplus, magento multiple warehouse, Synapse, NorthStar WMS, Cadence WMS etc.
