    Default Let's play a game:

You now have $1000 to start your business. What do you invest them in and what is your target? What are your first steps and how do you market yourself afterwards?

Last time I played this game, on a different forum and on a different topic (studying) I realized that I had a lot of options to study more and to be more efficient.

1,000$? For starting a business? I admit easily it is plenty of dollars for any household these days, but I think more is needed to start a business straight from top to bottom, except if you are going to work for free for the upcoming year and you continue to work, at least in a part time work.

I think making a business takes time and can't be an improvised process, so doing it with 1,000$ feels to me not enough, especially if you really have to pay costs elsewhere, like loans and food each month. And doing a business while you have a part time work is not impossible, but complicated, and with the 1,000$ budget, you can't afford to hire any employee. So, perhaps it is possible, but it looks really surprising to me. I think more capital is appropriate.

$1000 is too little to do anything, even though Facebook started out with an initial investment of $1000. I'd probably use the money to hire specialists and to talk to investors. I'd need a lot more funds than that to successfully start a business.

If I would have $1000 dollars to start up a business, I would probably invest the money into an Internet venture. There are literally thousands of ways one can earn online, but most of those require an initial investment, like say into hosting services, acquiring the necessary tools and setting up your online infrastructure. But with that kind of money, the Internet is definitely the way to go, in my opinion.

Completely agree. I don't think that 1,000 is a good amount to start with at all. I would ask for some consultation from people who know what they are doing, though.

Honestly, the most you can do with that amount of money is to start a website. $1000 is a pretty hefty sum to get a good start, as long as you have a good idea and the future planned out then you can do it all by yourself.

I would probably go to the specialists for their advice on how should I go about doing it hey.. $1000 is not a lot. If I happen to have an insanely creative and great idea, maybe turn to the internet to spread the word and at the same time look for investors to boost the business
