    I agree with you! Customer service is an important factor as well. It also belongs to their reliability in my opinion. Good quality of the products would still be my priority though.

        Smaller restaurants source foods from distributors like Sysco that offer a variety of products to a variety of different small restaurants. They're like a grocery store delivery system for restaurants with better pricing than grocery stores in some cases, but not all. Many privately owned restaurants these days are working directly with local butchers, bakers, organic farms, organic dairy farmers etc. to source their foods and are more interested in quality than price. But there are much more tricks that help to run that business successfully. It is also very important to have an order in cafe/distributors cooperation because usually it causes an inventory problems. By the way there is an article with a very detailed plan of actions for any restaurant how to avoid such problems ó https://joinposter.com/en/post/how-t...n-a-restaurant

                As for me, I pay attention at feedbacks, different comments about this or that supplier or manufacturer. Recently, I ordered a Paver Sealer to make my driveway to look more natural. There I got some products, due to the comments and started to make the work. I can say that it's very important to pay attention at feedbacks, comments and reviews.

                    • There are so many qualities that are a must for any supplier to possess in order to fully satisfy their old and new prospective customers on both short-term and long term basis. Below are some of the qualities that can never be compromised in my business dealings with a product supplier. They are as follows ;

                      He must always offer high quality products.
                      He must always offer his products and services at a fair general market price.
                      He must be an honest and professional business man.
                      Always upgrades with the ever improving business trends.
                      He must deliver products as and at when agreed always.

                        Well, in my opinion one must look for the following things in a supplier:

                        . Competency
                        . Capacity
                        . Commitment
                        . Control
                        . Cash
                        . Cost
                        . Consistency
                        . Culture

                        That's my take on evaluating supplier services.
                        The most important in your list are capacity and consistency. The capacity to supply you with your needs may be there but if there is no consistency then it will be a problem especially if the product you are handling is perishable or with short life span. But I wonder why you have included cash in the list of items that you look for in a supplier. I think cash should be a requirement for you when the supplier does not agree to a cheque payment or credit. But with the supplier they donít need to have cash.
