    The communication with the customer is important because we have to be aware that competition is always around us. Some clients would prefer to be called on once in a while that makes them feel important. When the supplier just waits for the call of the customer for an order, that is not a good attitude. It is advised to always keep in touch with the customer even when there is no order. A simple hello will do to give the impression that you care.

    I think I have to agree that constant communication is instrumental in maintaining the consistency of relations with customers. I had the experience of handling a sales team when I had my own business that we have a monthly review which means we had to call on the client by phone or by a short casual visit just to refresh the contact. A friendly relation with customers can be rewarding when the competition becomes stiff.
